ACTIVE SHOOTER TRAINING! On Tuesday, November 24, 2015 there will be an active shooter drill at Central High School. Please tell your friends and neighbors that this is only a drill. Police, fire, etc. will respond as if it is a real incident. It is only a drill.

Come out and Celebrate Arbor Day at the new Madrona Park arboretum. The 2015 Arbor Day Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, April 18 at 9:00 a.m. At the event, Monmouth will celebrate 13 years as a Tree City, USA participant. As part of the celebration, 24 new trees will be planted in the arboretum.

The Talmadge Road Closure and Detour is now in effect. Talmadge Road is closed to vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic between Madrona Street and Monmouth Street (Hwy 51). This road closure will be in effect until the pedestrian improvement project is complete (end of August). A detour route is in place using Edwards Road and Madrona Street. If you are driving in this area of town, please slow down and drive safely.
