Monmouth Parks Master Plan

How can Monmouth’s parks and open spaces meet your family's recreation needs?

We want to hear from you!

The city has begun an update to its citywide Parks Master Plan. The new plan will establish a path forward for providing high quality, community-driven parks, trails, natural areas and recreation offerings in Monmouth for the coming 10 years. The current Parks Master Plan was adopted in 2008 and has been an important guide for growing the city park system.

Citizen input is crucial to make sure recreational goals and priorities are consistent with community needs and desires. There will be several opportunities for you to participate in the Park Master Plan Update, including a community survey, public meetings and stakeholder discussions. This process gives us an excellent opportunity to identify ways in which to best serve the recreational needs of our growing community over the next 10 years.

The review and adoption of the Parks Master Plan is anticipated for fall 2019.

  • Open House
The City hosted a community open house meeting on September 5, 2019 at which residents had the opportunity to offer direct comments and feedback.
  • Social Media Platform

To reach out to more residents for the citywide Parks Master Plan, the City of Monmouth utilized a social media tool called MindMixer as part of the project. With MindMixer, the project team posted questions to the community, and participants could submit answers and comments or bring up their own ideas.
