Library Card Options

Any person residing within the city limits of Monmouth, including WOU students, can apply for a free Full Service library card by presenting photo identification and proof of current local address, including mail, utility bill, or rent receipt.

Rural residents of Polk, Yamhill or Marion County, within the Chemeketa Community College service district, are eligible for a free Basic Service library card. A Full Service Card is available for a fee.


Monmouth City Residents: Full Service Card
  • No annual fees - Fees are paid through Monmouth property taxes.
  • Non-residents owning property and paying taxes inside city limits also qualify.
  • Access to the full range of library services.
  • Access to materials at all 17 CCRLS member libraries.
  • Maximum 50 items checked out, 25 items on hold at a time.
 
Rural Resident of Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service (CCRLS) District

     Option I:  Fee Card
  • Annual fee of $60 per household.
  • Access to the full range of library services.
  • Access to materials at all 17 CCRLS member libraries.
  • Maximum 50 items checked out, 25 items on hold at a time.

     Option II:  Basic Service Card
  • No annual fees. Individual limited-use card paid for through CCRLS property taxes.
  • Access to materials at all 17 CCRLS member libraries.
  • Maximum 10 items checked out, 10 items on hold at a time.

     Option III: 
Juvenile Care Card
  • No annual fees.
  • Available to juveniles under the age of 19.
  • Access limited to items classified as Juvenile and Young Adult.
  • Maximum 25 items checked out, 25 items on hold at a time

Non-Resident of Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service (CCRLS) District
     
     
Out of CCRLS District Card
  • Annual fee of $75 per household.
  • Access to the full range of library services.
  • Access to materials at all 17 CCRLS member libraries.
  • Maximum 50 items checked out, 25 items on hold at a time.

Western Oregon University Students
  • Living off campus, within city limits - Eligible for a Full Service Card.
  • Living on campus or outside of the CCRLS library district (i.e. RSC Box address or an out of district address) - Eligible for a Full Service Card upon presentation of proof of current enrollment and proper ID. Card will expire June 30 of the current school year.
  • Proof of address/enrollment can be presented via student's WOLFLINK portal page.

Educator Card
Available for educators who are currently employed within the Central School District boundary, work in a certified childcare, Pre-K, Kindergarten through twelfth grade (K-12) school, or who are certified homeschool educators.

  • Not for personal use.
  • To be used only for work purposes in support of their students' education.
  • To be used exclusively by the person named on the card.
  • Maximum 50 items checked out, 25 items on hold at a time.
  • Educator responsible for all fines, lost or damaged materials.


Children under 15
Library card application for individuals under 15 years of age must also be signed by a parent or legal guardian with proof of guardianship. Minors should be able to write their own name on the card.

Parents are responsible for all materials checked out by their children. Staff will tell parents how many items their child has checked out and due dates for those items but not individual titles unless parent has possession of the child's library card.

Parents must give permission for children to borrow DVDs and Blu-Rays.

Parent/Guardian is responsible for reviewing borrowing guidelines and restrictions with their children. Library staff does not monitor patron activity.
